Competition hot for October’s Team of the Month

The end of the month rapidly approaches and that means only one thing – time to start considering the options for Team of The Month.

Marlborough College: Winners of the September Team of the Month accolade, Marlborough have continued their brilliant form with another unbeaten month. Almost faultless this half term.

Durham School: Another unbeaten month for Durham School in a term that has so far seen some truly outstanding performances. A draw with schoolboy rugby giants Sedbergh has so far been the only blot on the Durham copybook.

Radley: A fine October for Radley has seen them record wins against Cheltenham, Abingdon and rugby powerhouses Tonbridge. With a first piece of silverware, the Jamie Waters trophy, in the cabinet, Radley are looking strong.

Dulwich College: Strong wins against Brighton, Dartford and a hard fought win against Bedford left Dulwich unbeaten and looking formidable as they went into the St Joseph’s festival. Only a narrow defeat to Millfield, in the game of the tournament, stopped them marching into the final for a chance to retain the trophy.

St Paul’s: Another strong month from St Paul’s saw them record wins against Abingdon, Tiffin and Latymer as their unbeaten start to the season continues.

Wellington College: An unbeaten October and only one defeat all season, to pace setters Marlborough, has seen Wellington position themselves in their familiar position near the top of the schoolboy rugby tree. A thrilling and outstanding win at London Irish against a Bryanston side filled with England age group players was the highlight of their month.

Millfield: Sherborne, Colston’s and Kingswood were all dispatched with ease by this outstanding Millfield side as they headed to the St Joseph’s festival looking to avenge last year’s trophyless season. What followed was a triumph for rugby with this exciting side wrapping up the tournament with a strong victory against John Fisher, the Player of the Tournament in Sam Denham, the Try of the Tournament from Tom Whiteley and participating in the game of the tournament against Dulwich, winners of last year’s tournament and the Daily Mail Cup holders.

The candidates have all been outstanding this month and there are some great achievements from many schools and players this month, are there any schools that you think should be on the list?
