Week 2 of the U18 Aviva Premiership promises much

After a successful opening weekend, the Aviva Premiership U18 league returns again this week with yet more enticing fixtures.

London Wasps and Sale Sharks get their first games of the campaign, Wasps travel to Sunbury to take on London Irish, who won the most exciting match of the opening weekend 42-38 against Bristol.

Sale meanwhile will be hosting the Newcastle Falcons, Newcastle were also involved in a thriller last week, winning 23-20 against Worcester as they just held off a late fightback from the Warriors.

Northampton and Bath both site out this weekend, both were defeated in games they would have hoped to win last week, Saints going down 10-8 at Gloucester, while Bath lost 22-6 at home to Exeter.

Unfortunately Exeter’s second game of the season has been postponed. They were due to play Saracens at Sandy Park tomorrow but the inclement weather has spoiled that plan.

Gloucester are in action though, travelling to Leeds on Saturday as their tough travel schedule, due to being placed in the Northern Conference, starts to kick in.

Leeds will be looking to gather some form after a tough 30-9 defeat away at Leicester last weekend. The Tigers themselves will be looking to build on that though as they travel to Sixways to play Worcester.

The weekend all begins this afternoon though when Harlequins host Bristol at the Surrey sports centre in Guildford. Quins suffered a tough 56-7 defeat to Saracens last week and will be desperate to avenge that loss.

Bristol are a strong side though with a real Filton College spine to their team but Quins boast some of the top school players in the country. It should be an exciting game.
