Lambs prepare for Crawshay’s fixture

The Independent Schools National XV, The Lambs, play their second fixture of the season tomorrow when they take on Crawshays Welsh XV at Maidenhead RFC.

The Lambs beat the Under 18 Irish Exiles 52-15 last weekend in their first fixture of the season, from which there are ten changes to the matchday squad as the Lambs look to give all of their 33 man squad as much game time as possible ahead of their tour of Ireland over Easter.

There will therefore be 10 debutants on show tomorrow, Ben Bruce, David Elliot, Josh Gray, Michael Haines, Will Martin, Patrick Nicol, Conor Phillips, Roland Walker, Matthew Warren and Jamie Williams.

Iain Billington of Berkhamsted School will captain the side from the second row, whilst the star against the Exiles, Josh Piertse from St Columba’s College is also included for his second cap.

The game will kick off at 12.30pm of Maidenhead RFC’s excellent 4G pitch, which has so far proved the perfect platform for the Lambs to practice their ‘fast and free’ ethos.
