Nail biting weekend for the U15’s as the Daily Mail Finals day lineups are confirmed

The line up for the Daily Mail Finals day at Twickenham on Saturday 23rd March has been decided after the Under 15 Cup and Vase semi finals took place this weekend.

Like the Under 18’s the week before, it was a weekend of high drama and intensity, with each game once again won by the narrowest of margins. Across all four games, the combined winning margin was just eleven points.

Warwick did what their first XV could not, making it to their first ever Under 15 final as they beat Bromsgrove 17-16 in the tightest of games.

They will meet QEGS Wakefield at Twickenham, QEGS are playing in their third Under 15 Cup final but are yet to win the trophy, though in 1998 they did share it after a 5-5 draw.

A 5-5 draw in their semi final on Saturday looked on the cards but a solid conversion gave them a 7-5 lead over Bishop Heber, a lead that was good enough to carry them through to Twickenham.

In Vase yesterday Felsted beat Emmaunel School 17-12, the biggest winning margin of the weekend, they will join their Under 18 side who will be competing in the senior Vase final, a fantastic achievement, particularly from a school best known for its cricket.

Felsted will play Royal Latin School in the final, they beat Kirkham Grammar School 8-5 in yet another occasion that showed just how tightly contested these knockout games are.

The running order on the 23rd will see the Under 15 games played first before the Under 18 Vase takes place, with the Under 18 Cup wrapping things up as the showpiece event.
