Dulwich College face Northampton School for Boys in the Under 18 Daily Mail Cup Semi Final on Saturday. It is Dulwich’s second final in a row after they won the tournament last year, beating Old Swinford Hospital 15-8 in the final through the boot of Dom Fraser.

This year they are looking to enter the ranks of schoolboy greats, as our editor wrote after their semi final, but only a victory at Twickenham will do. We spoke to their Head Coach Sam Howard, a former Dulwich College captain and Bedford Blues fly half, who gave us his thoughts ahead of the game:

“The team are confident going into the final, and rightly so, we are still unbeaten all year and have played many of the best teams in the country home and away.”

“The excitement around the school and whole Dulwich community has definitely started to increase this week and we’re pretty confident we will have even more than the 6000 supporters we had at Twickenham last year.”

“The school is rightly very proud of its rugby heritage and we just are just trying to continue enhancing the reputation of Dulwich rugby.”

“The boys have worked tirelessly pretty much from 3 weeks after the final last year, so it’s been a long year of much hard work, blood sweat and tears and I personally hope the boys go out and play to their full potential, because if they achieve this they will be very difficult to stop.”
