KCS & Wimbledon College to play at Allianz Park on Saturday

BECOME A PATRON

Bonfire Night celebrations can play havoc with school playing fields, however KCS Wimbledon have come up with an excellent solution.

With their pitches unavailable on Saturday for their fixtures against Wimbledon College on Saturday they will instead bus the 1st and 2nd XV’s over to Saracens’ Allianz Park to play the fixtures there.

The 2nd XV fixture will open proceedings, kicking off at 10.30am, before the attention turns to the great 1st XV fixture at 12.00pm.

It goes without saying that with the two teams hailing from Wimbledon there is a great intensity and rivalry between the two sides, and that having the fixture played at such a prestigious venue will only serve to heighten that rivalry on Saturday.

KCS’ Director of Rugby, Neil Roberts, spoke of the quality of the venue and the opportunity, saying:

“We thought the chance to play at such a fantastic venue would be too good an opportunity to pass up, and for the players a great opportunity to play at a Premiership ground of such high quality.”

KCS will warm up for the game with a rescheduled match against St Paul’s on Wednesday afternoon, a match that we will be covering live. With their progress going well in the NatWest Cup too this is an excellent chance for them to make a big statement ahead of a mammoth couple of weeks for their rugby season.

Saturday ought to be a fantastic occasion, and should offer the chance for the perfect day of rugby. With things getting underway at Allianz Park at 10.30, all will be done and dusted in time for the England v Argentina or Scotland v Japan games at 14.30, followed by Ireland v Samoa or Wales v South Africa at 17.30, and rounded off by France v New Zealand at 20.00.

Saturday’s do not get much better than that!
