England U18 name squad for Australia School

BECOME A PATRON

England have name their U18 squad to face Australia Schools on Wednesday 4th December.

The game will kick off a 13.00 at Harrow School. A large majority of the squad are actually school leavers or in the U20s but with school fixtures on the same day and the fixture being midweek during term time many of the U18s squad probably unable to play.

Speaking about the game against Australia, England’s Head Coach John Fletcher said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity to test ourselves against a side that we know will want to play an attacking style of rugby, admission is free so it would be great to see rugby fans come down and cheer us on.”

“The squad we’ve selected is a good blend of experience and youth. There are players who won the FIRA/AER European Championship last April, players who toured South Africa in the summer and some younger players who we are looking to bring through.”

“We’ll work closely with the England Under 20 coaches, Nick Walshe and Ian Peel, as there are players involved who will be in their thoughts, and it also gives them the opportunity to take a look at the next crop in action in a competitive game.”

Five of our 2012/13 School Squad of the Season are included in the squad, Rory Jennings, James Chisholm, Andrew Boyce, and Charlie Ewels.
