The Independent School Lambs have named their South East and Midlands U18s squads following the regional trials on Sunday.
The two squads will next get together on the 5th January when the Midlands will play the North side in a trial game for the Northern XV, while the South East will take on the South West for places in the Southern XV.
Those two sides will then play on the 12th January for places in the 28 man Independent School Lambs National Squad. There is still plenty of whittling down to be done though as the South East have selected a 25 man squad with four on standby, while the Midlands have named a 24 man squad.
In the South East Felsted really dominate the squad with four players in the squad and one on standby, a fitting reward for their exciting rugby this season.
Epsom College’s excellent form is rewarded with three selections, while Trinity, Stowe, St Benedict’s, Pangbourne, Harrow, Haileybury, and Colfe’s contribute two players each.
In the Midlands Oakham, Solihull, The Perse, and Uppingham’s fine seasons are all rewarded with three selections each, while Culford, Denstone, and The Leys each provide two players. In Bedford’s Ben Nethersole and Oakham’s Frank Tufail Smith, there are a couple of very exciting players in the Midlands squad, as there are across all the squads.
The North and South West will shortly announce their squads before the break ahead of the inter-regional matches on the 5th January.
The South East v South West game will be hosted by Merchant Taylor’s, while the North v Midlands game is to be held at Mount St Mary’s.
