The Independent School Lambs have announced their Northern XV to take on the Southern XV on Sunday.
The announcement follows the release of the Southern XV last night as the two prepare to go head to head at noon on the 12th January for places in the 28 man Independent School Lambs U18 National Squad.
The squad will play a series of fixtures around England during the Easter term before departing to Zimbabwe for their Easter tour.
Fittingly, Woodhouse Grove’s Daily Mail Trophy winning exploits are rewarded with the highest number of representatives in the squad, three in total, including two from the same family, Daniel and Michael Radigan.
Hymers College, The Leys, and Uppingham are the only only others to have multiple representatives, each has two players in the squad.
The game takes place at Maidenhead RFC on their 4G pitch, which ought to mean that regardless of conditions both sides should be able to play to the Lambs ‘Fast and Free’ motto.
The Lambs are seen as one of the most prestigious teams in school rugby, a side for those who excel but have not yet been given any further representative honours, but also a side for those who  are prepared to throw a bit of caution into the wind when they play, looking to run when others might kick, to offload when other might take the tackle, to go for the try when others might look for three.
Bringing two teams worth of those players together on Sunday ought to make for a spectacular game of rugby, despite the obvious nerves that a trial game brings.
