England Clubs & Schools U18s have named their squad for their three-way tournament in Paris.

Also travelling to Marcoussis, the venue of the French National Rugby Union Centre, for the series of games between the 14^th and 21^st of April are Ireland Clubs U18s and the hosts, France U18 A.

Twenty-one different schools are represented across England’s twenty-four man squad, with only Moulton College having more than one representative. In fact, the Northampton Saints feeder side have four representatives, suggesting that they were perhaps a touch under represented in the full England U18 side, though that squad has performed excellently.

That there are just twenty-four players in the squad for the two games should be encouraging to those involved as almost all will be involved in both of England’s fixtures, against France on Sunday 13^th April and Ireland on Wednesday the 16^th.

All of those named in the squad have impressed throughout the season but a couple whose names might be particularly well known to schoolboy rugby fans are St Joseph’s College’s Dan Lewis, who was named Player of the Tournament when his school won the St Joseph’s Festival, and Moulton College’s Conor Bullivant, who helped to guide Northampton School for Boys to the Schools Cup final last year.

The squad only officially came together at the weekend, where they played and convincingly won their first game of the season, a 38-17 victory over the older Bedford Blues U19s.

The Clubs and Schools side has a good track record of helping players to develop their rugby careers, for instance one of last year’s stars, Aaron Morris, started for the England U20s during this year’s Six Nations, while Sam Smith played for the England U18s having represented the Clubs and Schools side last year.
