Round two of the AASE League gets underway tomorrow with six side out to make it two wins from two at the start of the season.
Two of those, Oaklands College and Myerscough College will play each other. Oaklands impressively beat Moulton 37-19 last week, while Myerscough beat Gosforth Academy 25-19.
Things are unlikely to get much easier for Gosforth this week. They face the mighty Hartpury College, at Hartpury College, a tricky fixture for any side. Hartpury last week beat Worcester 6th form College 40-0, the biggest margin of victory of the week, and they will be looking to go well again tomorrow.
Worcester will be hoping to rectify that this week in the only clash between two sides that lost last weekend, they travel to take on Moulton College.
Like Hartpury, new boys Bicton College also got off to a flying start last week. They beat local rivals Ivybridge 40-15 to announce their new AASE status with a bang. This week Bicton travel to another local (ish) rival, Truro College. Last week Truro lost 15-5 to the excellent SGS Filton, so Bicton can expect a tougher ride this week.
Filton themselves will be hosting Henley College as they look to make it two wins from two and build on that impressive showing at the AASE Festival. Henley will be looking to bounce back though after falling 22-34 to St Paul’s, despite impressing in patches.
St Paul’s, who like Filton and Hartpury were unbeaten at the Festival, welcome Ivybridge to town and will surely be favoruites for this one as they look to build on that victory over Henley, while Ivybridge look to recover from that heavy Bicton defeat.
