The AASE League fourth round took place yesterday, with Filton College v St Paul’s Catholic College taking centre stage.

St Paul’s sat at the top of the league following Filton’s shock loss to Ivybridge last week, but that only made the home side determined to get the win. It was a feisty old game, but Filton battled through to win 17-12.

That victory, coupled with Truro College’s 31-13 victory over Ivybridge, leaves Filton, St Paul’s, and Truro all level with three wins and one loss at the top of the Southern Conference. St Paul’s head the table by a point courtesy of their bonus points, with Truro second and Filton third.

At the foot of the table Bicton College and Henley College were battling it out, we had Bicton as favourites but Henley did enough to win 32-27, their first victory of the season, and enough to lift them above Ivybridge into fifth.

In the North Hartpury College once again proved what a force they are as they beat Moulton College, who pushed Oaklands all the way let’s not forget, by a stunning 67-0 scoreline.

Oaklands are clinging onto Hartpury’s coattails though, they remain equal on victories with four from four having beaten Gosforth Academy 20-10. With Hartpury and Oakland meeting next week that unbeaten record will have to topple for one, you sense that it will be Oaklands who have to pick themselves up.

Worcester 6^th form College continued their good start, they beat Myerscough 26-7 to leave them with two wins and two losses.
