Today sees the second of our Team of the Term summaries as we build up to our announcement on the 1st January.

An unbeaten 2013 season was always going to be tough to follow for Epsom College but they performed magnificently well in 2014, despite an injury ravaged mid season.

Of their twelve matches, Epsom College won ten, including victories over Tonbridge, Brighton College, and the triple Schools Cup champions, Dulwich College.

Five times they passed forty points, including one stunning 86-0 victory over Eastbourne College.

Epsom College were key players in the new Schools Champions Trophy, and along with the eventual Champions Millfield they were the early frontrunners.

Unfortunately for them their injury crisis and an inspired Oakham School performance saw them knocked out 17-15 in the quarter finals, despite a brilliant display from captain and Harlequins U18 number 8, Archie White.

That was to prove to be one of only two defeats all season, the second coming to Wellington College, the 2014 Daily Mail Trophy Champions.

Espsom’s strong record ensured that they too had an excellent season in the Champions Trophy, finishing fifth overall, despite playing the equal fewest number of fixtures in the competition.

All in all, a superb season from Epsom College, and proof again that this school is among the very strongest rugby schools around.
