Team of the Term Vote – Season Summary – Kingswood School

Our fourth season summary for our Team of the Term Vote is Kingswood School.

Ahead of the announcement of our Fans Vote for the Fifteen Rugby Team of the Term on the 1st January, we are summarising each of the ten shortlisted team’s seasons, with one team each day. Having already summarised Bromsgrove, Epsom College, and Hymers College, Christmas Day’s team is Kingswood!

It has been a truly stunning season for the South West side, who have completed what very few other schools have been able to do; an unbeaten season.

That unbeaten season has compromised of thirteen wins from thirteen games, but perhaps even more impressive than that raw stat is that, at least by scoreline margins, a 30-23 victory over Sir Thomas Rich’s.

Fifteen Rugby were lucky enough to see them in action back in September in a highly impressive 30-10 victory over Clifton College, a victory that was filled with physicality and no little skill.

In fact, thirty points is Kingswood’s lowest score all season, and eight times they have passed the fifty mark, while on the remaining three occasion they were over forty. It has quite simply been a season of total dominance.

It is probably those to narrower victories, against Clifton and Sir Thomas Rich’s, that are the real stand out victories though, for they are the two toughest opponents on the Kingswood fixture list and both have had good seasons themselves, particularly Clifton College.

However for sheer scale, the 87-8 victory over Dean Close is deeply impressive, scoring over a point a minute is always impressive, let alone scoring 17 points over that.

A highly impressive term from Kingswood School.
