Draw for the 2015 Reed’s 7s revealed

BECOME A PATRON

The Reed’s 7s take place this Sunday, the 22nd February, with twelve schools competing for the Cup.

Coming early in the 7s season it ought to be a great chance for teams to gain an early bit of confidence, with half of the teams guaranteed silverware owing to the structure of the tournament.

The draw is split into four groups of three, with the winners of each group heading to the Cup semi finals. The winner of those semi final will compete for the title, but the losers will get to compete in the Plate final.

Similarly with those finishing second. They will play in the Bowl semi finals, with the winners competing in the Bowl final, and the winners in the Trophy final.

Third place in the group sees those teams in the Shield semi finals, with the winners of those semi finals playing for the Shield, and the losers for the Spoon, meaning all teams will play in a final, and half will lift some form of silverware.

It looks a strong field, Group A sees hosts Reed’s as the narrow favourites but Kent College and Pangbourne College in particular will make life tough.

Group B looks likely to go to Seaford College but New Hall and The Oratory are both highlight capable. Over in Group C Felsted, St John’s Leatherhead and Wisbech Grammar School compete.

Meanwhile in Group D things look very tight, with Hurstpierpoint College, Reigate Grammar School, and Shiplake College all capable of taking points from each other.
