Schools Rugby Weekend Roundup

Another good weekend of schools rugby draws to a close, and once again it has been one with some impressive results.

Perhaps most impressive of all was a 46-7 win for Millfield over Welsh Academicals, an somewhat unknown quantity but one that was expected to be a tough challenge, that Millfield won without a few of their Academy players made it all the more impressive a finish the season as they now turn their focus solely to 7s.

King’s Macclesfield took the win they were looking for, a decent 16-10 effort over Stockport Grammar, while Dartford Grammar continued their good run of form with a 29-7 win over Judd.

Bishop Vesey’s picked up the win at John Cleveland and KES brimingham did the job against Shrewsbury, however there was a surprise for Lymm High School, who fell 19-15 to St Anselm’s having rested a few big names ahead of the NatWest Cup last 16.

Whitgift just edged to an 8-7 victory over City of London Freemen’s following their tough exploits on Wednesday in the Cup, all eyes for them will be on that tie against St Joseph’s College.

As St Joseph’s are on Whitgift, the Ipswich side played an U17 fixture against Skinners, which they won 29-19.
