Saturday’s school rugby was littered with cancellations due to the snow, however there were still a few exciting fixtures that were able to go ahead.
Hampton continued their fine run of form, which saw them beat Monmouth in the NatWest Cup last 16 last week, beating Tiffin 36-5 on Saturday to keep their momentum up ahead of their quarter final clash with Dulwich College.
Whitgift prepared for Wednesday’s last 16 tie at St Joseph’s College with an excellent 15-7 away win against Brighton College, a result that should fill them with confidence.
Things were even tighter in Leatherhead, where St John’s just lost out 28-26 to Bede’s, and it was similarly close at Adams Grammar School, where the hosts just lost 22-19 to Loughborough Grammar School.
Over at Bishop Vesey’s it was not a day for the scorers, Old Swinford Hospital coming away with the spoils by a 3-0 margin, while over KES Birmingham it finished 10-10 with Bablake.
Nottingham High School v Welbeck was almost as close, Welbeck just edging it 22-21. Coopers’ Coburn beat Judd 19-12, while in one of the more commanding results of the day, Solihull beat Leicester Grammar School 29-5.
