Strong field for the 2015 Hampton School U18 Founders’ Day 7s

The draw for the 2015 Hampton School U18 Founders’ Day 7s has been made, with Brighton College looking to retain the trophy they won last year.

The tournament takes place on Wednesday 25th February, beginning at 13.30, with the final taking place at 16.50.

Brighton College, who defeated Whitgift in last year’s final, are in Group two, where they must contend with last year’s Plate winners, John Fisher, and the most successful side in the Hampton 7s history, Cranleigh, who won the competition in 2011 and 2012.

Also in Group 2 are 2008 winners Campion and the former NatWest Cup finalists, St Benedict’s, making this Group a particularly tough one in what is a classy field all around.

Hosts Hampton are in Group 1, they have never lifted the title but have twice reached the final and won the Plate in 2012. Their big challenge will be Whitgift, who have reached the past three finals here.

Also in the Group are the dangerous and exciting St Joseph’s College, who were shorn of their England stars last year putting early expectations that they could win it on hold.

Tiffin and St Paul’s round off the group, with Tiffin looking for a repeat or better of their 2008 and 2011 Plate triumphs.
