The quarter final line ups across all four NatWest Cup and Vase competitions have been finalised after the remaining last 16 matches following last week’s quarter final draw have now been played.
U18 Cup
In the U18 Cup Bromsgrove beat the previously unbeaten Stamford 23-15 (see here for report – Bromsgrove v Stamford), setting up a quarter final at home against the unheralded yet highly successful Daunstey’s School.
The other unplayed last 16 tie in the U18 Cup was St Joseph’s College v 2010 & 2011 champions Whitgift. St Joseph’s took that one with a 20-12 victory (see here for report – St Joseph’s v Whitgift), securing a home quarter final against Wilmslow High School.
The winner of St Joseph’s v Wilmslow will play the winner of Dulwich College v Hampton in the semi final at Allianz Park, while the winner of Bromsgrove v Dauntsey’s will play the winner of Oundle v Lymm High School in the other semi final.
U15 Cup
Dulwich College v Harrow was the only outstanding fixture in the U15 Cup draw, and what tense one it proved to be, with Dulwich winning it 15-13 to set up a quarter final at home to QEGS Wakefield. Dulwich are the only side with a team in each quarter final Cup draw.
In the semi final the winner of that game will play the winner of Northampton School for Boys v Wirral Grammar, with the semi final being played between the winner of Brighton College v Ivybridge and Wellington College v Warwick.
U18 Vase
Seevic College overcame Hurtpierpoint College 30-8 in the U18 Vase, setting up a quarter final at home to St George’s Weybridge, with the winner playing either Stockport Grammar or Welbeck in the semi final.
Silcoates v Cheadle Hulme also still had to be played, Cheadle Hulme took it with a 30-9 victory to set up an away tie at Churcher’s College, with the winner playing either West Buckland or KES Aston in the semi final.
U15 Vase
Two schools have teams in the quarter finals of both the U18 Vase and the U15 Vase, Stockport Grammar and St George’s College, Weybridge.
St George’s secured their quarter final place by beating Simon Langton with a narrow 13-12 victory, setting up a home quarter with Cup legends Oakham.
They will play either Bishop Wordsworth’s or Stockport Grammar in the semi final after Stockport edged a thriller against Hill House in the last 16, 29-26.
Bishop Vesey’s v St Columba’s was another last 16 fixture in the U15 Vase that remained to be played, St Columba’s picked up the victory in yet another close on, 12-10, setting up a quarter final with Sherborne. The winner will play either RGS Newcastle or Felsted in the semi final.
