Sixteen sides drawn for Sunday’s Colston’s 7s

BECOME A PATRON

The Colston’s 7s takes place on Sunday, with sixteen of the biggest teams in the South West area coming together.

Last year the tournament was one of the many Millfield School triumph’s, however with this year’s edition clashing with the Marches 7s, it will be a Millfield 2nd VII that aims to defend their title, with a group containing King’s Bruton, Sherborne, and Truro though, it will be a tall order.

The 2013 winners may also not be so likely to chase down the title again either, Bromsgrove beat Colston’s in the 2013 final, and lifted the Plate last year, however with a NatWest Cup semi finals the following Saturday, they may not be focusing on the short format of the game just yet. Hosts Colston’s will be glad of that, they are alongside Bromsgrove in Group D, with QEH and Queen’s College Taunton also in attendance.

The groups are split into four groups of four, with the winners competing for the Cup, second, the Plate, third the Shield, and fourth the Bowl. Last year Bristol Grammar School picked up the Bowl, but they will be hoping to go even better this year from Group A, though King’s College Taunton, Wellington School, and in particular Kingswood, will be tough opposition.

Group B ought as to be competitive, with Bryanston, Prior Park, Taunton School, and Whitchurch High School all competing.
