England U18 Counties side named

The England Counties U18 side to face a France U18 XV on Saturday has been named.

The game is the first of the International Triangualr Festival at Hartpury College, which also includes Ireland U18 Clubs & Schools.

The England side, who kick off at 19.30, are led by Runshaw College’s John McKenzie, who is partnered in the second row by Bede’s Josh Novell.

Warwick’s Jamie Shillock is at fly half, with Newcastle School for Boys’ Ruaraidh Dawson his halfback partner. Outside them in the centres are St Paul’s Connor Hayhow and Grammar School at Leeds’ Will Newett, with QEGS Penrith’s James Spencer at fullback and The Priory Acadmey’s Benjamin Usher and King Edward’s Myles Bean the wingers.

The front row sees Hautlieru’s Harrison Berresford and Myerscough College’s Jack Conteh propping, with St Bartholomew’s Tom Doughty hooking. The back row is flanked by Wirral Grammar School’s Matt Palphreyman, and a second Myerscough player, Joseph Duffy. Dylan Morris of Reed’s is at number.

England Counties U18 then play Ireland U18 Clubs & Schools on April 4th, with the Irish and French sides meeting three days earlier on the 1st.
