5 Schoolboys in first Samurai British Bulldogs squad of the season

The Samurai British Bulldogs have named their first squad of the 2015 7s season, featuring five current schoolboys, for the East Grinsted Sunishine 7s.

Last season the Bulldogs won four of the six tournaments that they entered, including the Sunshine 7s where they beat the side who were to become their big rivals all season, Apache 7s, 17-7 in the final.

This year’s squad sees three John Fisher players in the side, Bamidele Fadahunsi, Nathan Thomas, and Suvwe Obano.

St Joseph’s College captain Ethan Waddleton is included, as is Denstone College captain Charlie Venables.

Former Epsom College pupil Charlie Dockery returns to the Bulldogs after a successful spell last year, Dockery is the only member of the team to have played in last year’s successful Sunshine 7s campaign.

Another man who joined Dockery on a couple of occasions last year is the Dulwich College leaver Ali Neden, who twice lifted the NatWest Schools Cup when at the school.

Former Brighton College flyer Ed Kittow links up with the squad as does ex Harrow pupil and Wasps Academy star Harry Glover, along with Simon Wells and the former Haileybury College man, Austin Winton.

The former Millfield man Sam Shwoering completes the squad and will bring by far the most experience to the Bulldogs squad, whose stated aim is to give top level 7s experience to players aged between 17 and 23. With five schoolboys in the squad, they are certainly doing that.
