England U18 squad for South Africa tour named

England have named their U18 squad for August’s annual tour of South Africa.

Head Coach John Fletcher, along with forwards coach Peter Walton has named a 25-man squad for the three game tour, which will see England face France U18, South Africa U18 A, and South Africa U18 between the 7th and 15th August.

The squad is largely based on the squad that competed in the Rugby Europe U18 Championship, with a few choice selections from the U17 squad such as Millfield’s versatile back five forward Josh Bayliss.

The squad consists of nine players from the AASE League, with Truro College the most highly represented through Jack Stanley and Billy Keast in the forwards, while there are sixteen players from the regular schools circuit. Millfield and Sedbergh are the most represented form that side of the school game, with Sedberhg represented by Northampton Saints’ second row Alex Moon and Sale Sharks fly half/full back Ali Crossdale, while Millfield are represented by the aforementioned Bayliss and his Bath colleague Darren Atkins, who can play full back, wing, or occasionally at fly half.
