Hartpury, Wyggeston, and St Paul’s all maintained their unbeaten starts in the AASE league this afternoon.

Hartpury beat their closest rivals in the league last year, Oaklands, by a staggering 69-5 margin, leaving Oaklands still winless at the foot of the table with Moulton.

It means that Hartpury have maximum points from their three games, and lie in second place with Wyggeston in top spot.

Wyggeston also secured the bonus point as they beat Moulton College 43-15, so with their extra game they are four points clear of Hartpury, on 19.

The final game in the Northern Division was a close run thing between Myerscough College and Worcester 6^th form College, who as the home side had high hopes for a first win of the season. It was not to be though, as Myerscough came out on top in a very finely balanced game, winning 22-20.

In the South the big game of the day was St Paul’s Catholic College v Truro College, the top two from last year.

St Paul’s took the win, with a commanding display that saw the scores finish at 29-10. St Paul’s joy was built further when it emerged that Filton College had lost 20-17 at Ivybridge Community College, putting St Paul’s three points clear of both Filton and Truro and with a game in hand.

Indeed those two sides are under pressure from Bicton, who had a week off, and Ivybridge, after the Chiefs side’s victory over Filton.

At the foot of the table Beechen Cliff were hoping for a first win of the season as they hosted second bottom Henley College. Alas for the league’s newest team, it was not to be as Henley won 28-15.
