Fifteen Rugby October School Team of the Month Revealed!

Hampton have been named as the Fifteen Rugby October School Team of the Month.

Over 2,000 of you, our readers, voted for the award, choosing between seven schools, Bedford, Blundell’s, Bromsgrove, Kirkham Grammar, RGS High Wycombe, Sedbergh, and of course Hampton.

Hampton claimed 31% of the vote, and deservedly so after they went through the month unbeaten and won the prestigious St Joseph’s Festival for the first time in their history.

Indeed they did not just win the St Joseph’s Festival, they dominated it. Over the entire two days they conceded just one try. On the first day they did not concede a single point. That solitary try came in the final, against RGS High Wycombe, and came after they had already built a lead. They had also beaten the immensely strong Cranleigh.

Bedford were Hampton’s closest challengers for the October School Team of the Month, with 25% of the vote. Like Hampton, they too are unbeaten in October, and have marched into the semi finals of the Champions Trophy, after a stunning quarter final victory in the wet against Sherborne.

Bedford travel to Sedbergh in that semi final, on Wednesday 11th November, and the Cumbrian’s came in third in the Team of the Month vote with 19% of the vote, they too were unbeaten and their month included victories over the likes of Millfield and Barnard Castle.

Hampton were the deserved winners though, their stunning performance at the St Joseph’s Festival almost making it an inevitability. Their dominance there stretched to individuals too, with outside centre Roman Malin-Hiscock, who started for London Irish U18 last weekend, claiming the Player of the Tournament award.

Congratualtions to Hampton, the Fifteen Rugby October School Team of the Month!
