The AASE league resumes this week, with the first round following the midway league split.
The top three sides from each division now play in two groups of three, split North and South again, with the top side in each playing in the AASE Cup final, which will be played on the 25th November at Saracens’ Allianz Park, on the same day as the Champions Trophy final.
The bottom four sides in each league are also split into two leagues, again North and South.
In the North Cup Group, Myerscough College, who finished third in the main league, host second placed Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth I College, while Hartpury College have a bye week.
In the South Cup Group, Bicton College host Filton College, while the main league table toppers, St Paul’s Catholic College start with a bye week.
In Division 2 of the North, Gosforth Academy host Moulton College and Worcester 6th form College host Oaklands College. In the South, new boys Beechen Cliff host Ivybridge, while Henley College host Truro College.
The new league format should create plenty of excitement, with the top sides getting more opportunity than usual to play each other, which ought to produce plenty of top quality rugby.
