The NatWest Cup has been bubbling along nicely so far this term, at both U18 and U15 level, and this week the Cup is beginning to go national.
The U18 Cup completed half of its last 16 fixtures this week, and when the competition reaches the quarter final stage in moves from being a regional competition to a full national one.
U18
Bishop Wordsworth’s, Sir Thomas Rich’s, Manchester Grammar, and back to back Champions Bromsgrove have all reached the quarter finals after midweek victories.
Four quarter finalists are yet to be decided. In North B the last 16 tie sees RGS Newcastle visit last year’s finalists, QEGS Wakefield. Warwick, whose team is made up entirely of players who reached the U15 finals, face Oundle in their last 16 tie in Midlands A.
The other two quarter finals will come from the London & South East regions as neither have played their last 16 fixtures yet. London & South East A sees Felsted host 2010 and 2011 champions, Whitgift, while in London & South East B, Whitgift’s big local rivals John Fisher will travel to Judd.

In the Plate Lymm High School booked their quarter final spot with a win over Cheadle Hulme, 21-12, while Crossley Heath are also through after a 34-0 win at home to Yarm.
In the Midlands Bedford Modern and Hills Road drew in the A group, while in Midlands B the impressive Solihull beat Newcastle-Under-Lyme 43-20.
Both London & South East games are still to be played, Cooper’s Coborn host Caterham and Richard Collyer host Wimbledon College, in South West A Reigate Grammar are still to travel to Downside, but in South West B St Columba’s College have already secured their quarter final place after beating Plymouth College, 27-5.

The Vase is a round behind the Cup and Plate, with most sides still playing their last 32 games. Some are already through to the Last 16 though. Trent College will face Hereford 6th form College in Midlands B after Trent beat King Henry VIII Coventry 39-9 and Hereford beat Queen Mary’s 44-7.
It’s a complete set in London & South East A too, with London Oratory beating Alton College 17-12 and Seevic impressively beating Watford Grammar 31-8.
Sevenoaks are through in London & South West B after a 22-0 win at Chatham and Clarendon. The only other side through are Sheldon in South West B after their 27-12 win away at Poole Grammar.

Bridgwater College took a walkover in South West A, while over in South West B the last 16 tie will be Bournemouth v Lord Williams’ after they beat Corsham and Windsor Boys’.

The U15 tournament is a little way behind the U18 version, with the competition still largely in the third round. In North B two of the fourth round sides are known though after Durham beat RGS Newcastle 20-13 and Woodhouse Grove beat Grammar School at Leeds 10-7.
It is down to London & South East B for the next sides to have made it through, Trinity, after a 25-7 win at Campion. Judd and Chislehurst & Sidcup drew 12-12. In South West A there was a shock as Taunton knocked out Millfield, 24-12.

There are two sides through in Midlands A too, Bishop Vesey’s beat Nottingham High School 15-10, while Princethorpe College were 30-19 winners over King Edward VI Camp Hill.
Oundle beat Harlington Upper 50-3 in Midlands B, along with a 29-10 win for King’s Grantham over Gresham’s. In London & South East A it was Oaklands who were on form, beating Licensed Victuallers’ 54-42 in one of the most thrilling games of the entire competition.
It was far tighter in London & South East B as Duke of York’s Royal Military School made it through following a 5-3 win over Sir Joseph Williamson’s. In the South West St Peter’s Bournemouth make it to the next round of the A section, while a 40-7 win for Pangbourne College over Windsor Boys saw them through in South West B.

Gunnersbury have qualified to the next round in London & South East A, beating John Hampden 14-10. Alongside them will be Rutlish, who enjoyed a huge 62-14 win over Cedars.
There was a big win in London & South East B too, as Skinners’ secured a brilliant 49-0 win over Gravesend Grammar. South West A saw a big win too, Thomas Hardye beat Huish Episcopi 50-7.
Hampshire Collegiate were involved in a thriller in South West B as they moved through to Round 4 after beating QES Wimbourne 46-31.

The Bowl has been erratic in terms of fixtures being completed, but a number of teams have now secured their last 16 places. Church Stretton and Liverpool College are both through from North A after beating Holmes and Rydal Penrhos respectively.
In North B Birkdale are through after a 29-5 win over Christ The King, while none are through in Midlands A yet. The same would be true in Midlands B, however Wooton Upper and St Clement Danes have both been given walkovers.
The same is true for Isleworth & Syon in London & South East A, and for Beth’s Grammar in London & South East B. Trinity Catholic School also make it through, they had to play and beat Brampton, 38-0, while Dover Grammar beat Kent College 41-7.
In the South West Woodroffe made it through after winning a 33-27 thriller against Wells Cathedral, while South West B is yet to have anyone through to Round 3.
