Daily Mail Trophy – Top 10 – Kirkham unbeaten and climbing

The teams remain the same but the order a little shaken up in the top 10 of the Daily Mail Trophy.

Wellington College, fresh from their victory over Cranleigh on Thursday, remain top of the pile, but behind them the unbeaten Kirkham Grammar School are now their closest challengers as they leapt from fifth to second following their 7-0 win over Barnard Castle.

Their rise is largely due to the fact that both Sedbergh and Bromsgrove dropped points, with Bromsgrove slipping from second to third following their first dropped points of the season, a 10-10 draw with RGS High Wycombe, while Sedbergh fell to a third defeat on the bounce, this time to Warwick.

That defeat sees Sedbergh slip from third to fifth, with Bedford holding firm in fourth place having not had a game this weekend.

The other big climbers this week is Woodhouse Grove, who jump from ninth to sixth. In doing so they squeeze Durham from sixth into seventh, Durham were the side that the 2013 Champions defeated on Saturday, a thrilling 21-19 victory.

It also bumps Bradford Grammar from seventh to tenth as they were hit by the double blow of Woodhouse Grove’s win and their own defeat to QEGS Wakefield. Stockport Grammar stand firm in eighth, while Whitgift profit from Bradford Grammar’s slip, rising from tenth to ninth.
