Schools Rugby Midweek Preview & Predictions

BECOME A PATRON

With almost every school in the country now packed up for the Christmas break, it is a quiet midweek of schools rugby this week, but there is still some top quality schools rugby on offer.

On Tuesday Lymm High School host Kirkham Grammar School in the final Daily Mail Trophy game of the season, Kirkham are looking for the win to secure second place in the table.

RGS Colchester are also hosting on Tuesday afternoon, they host Woodbridge for what ought to be a good contest.

Wednesday is a slightly busier day, and the pick of the bunch is the NatWest Cup tie, which sees Bishop Wordsworth’s host RGS High Wycombe for what will be an enormous clash. Both sides could go very far in the competition, but only one is going to be able to.

Kirkham Grammar are actually scheduled to follow Tuesday’s game with a game on Wednesday against St Benedict’s, however as this is no longer classed as a Daily Mail Trophy game, and coming so soon after the game v Lymm, it could well end up being discarded.

One game that also looks very tasty is the clash of the Merchant Taylors’, as Merchant Taylors’ Crosby host Merchant Taylors’ Northwood.

RGS Lancaster host Audenshaw and The Crypt travel to Sir Thomas Rich’s, meanwhile St Albans welcome Beaumont, and Stockport Grammar are hosting Cheadle Hulme.

Thursday sees St George’s Weybridge travel to Wallingotn County Grammar in what is the final U18 school game of the tern.
