A short midweek in terms of number of fixtures has proved to be anything but in terms of quality as some superb stuff was played across the country.
On Tuesday RGS Lancaster kicked things off with a bang, beating Audenshaw 43-3 to progress to the county cup semi finals against Manchester Grammar.
Wednesday saw some NatWest Vase action, with Yarm putting in a superb performance to beat Ripon Grammar 36-7, while The Leys had to dig deep to secure an 8-3 win away at Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School.
There was bad news as Whitgift v St Benedict’s had to be called off, and there was bad news for Millfield too, who lost 18-5 at home to Coleg y Cymoedd ahead of another game against Welsh opposition this Saturday.
Brentwood were in fine form, winning 36-12 at home to Robert Clack, while Bishop Heber’s trip to Cheadle Hulme was a great success for them as they recorded a stunning 61-10 victory.
On Thursday St Ambrose College kept up their progress in the NatWest Vase with a superb 55-0 win over Ripley St Thomas to progress into the next round.
