The last weekend of schools rugby before the start of the 7s season was certainly an entertaining one, with plenty of high scoring games.
One of the highest scoring was John Fisher v Tiffin, which John Fisher claimed, 31-22. There were more points over at St Ambrose College, but all were in the home side’s favour as they beat Audenshaw 55-0.
It was tight in the mud between Campion and Brighton College, with the visitors, Brighton, just emerging as winners, 7-5. Even tighter was Leciester Grammar School v King Henry VIII School in Coventry, which ended in a 5-5 draw.
Crossley Heath were in fine for against Manchester Grammar, winning 33-5, and it was a similar story for King’s Macclesfield, who beat Queen Ethelburga’s 36-0.
Millfield returned to winning ways after a midweek defeat as they saw off Welsh Academicals 20-0, while QEGS Wakefield U17 saw off RGS High Wycombe U17 26-7.
Loughborough Grammar School were on the wrong side of a 13-10 defeat to Nottingham High School.
