School 7s: Bryanston 7s draw revealed

The draw for the 2016 Bryanston 7s for Sunday 6th March has been made.

The competition, won last year by Kingswood in a 32-7 final victory over Bryanston, consists of sixteen teams, split into four groups of four.

The top side from each group competes in the Cup semi finals, with second place taking part in the Plate semis, third the Bowl, and fourth the Shield.

Kingswood, the champions, are in Group B alongside last year’s Plate winners, Sherborne. They are also joined by King’s College Taunton and Wellington School.

Hosts Bryanston are in a tricky Group A, alongside AASE side Beechen Cliff, NatWest Cup last 16 side Truro, and NatWest Vase last 16 side, Downside. Having won the West of England 7s on Sunday though, Bryanston will really fancy their chances on home soil this weekend.

2014 Champions and 2015 Shield winners, Blundell’s, are in Group C alongside Bristol Grammar, King’s Bruton, and Millfield 2nd VII, the side who lost to Blundell’s in last year’s Shield final.

Group D sees last year’s Bowl winners, Dauntsey’s, drawn with last year’s Plate runners up KES Bath, Canford, and Christ College Brecon.
