School 7s: Hymers 7s draw announced

BECOME A PATRON

The draw for the Hymers College 7s has been made. The tournament is one of the final preparation events ahead of the HSBC Rosslyn Park National School 7s.

It takes place on Wednesday 9th March, the same day as the Gulliver’s Sports Surrey School 7s, and features many of the strongest schools in the Northern regions.

QEGS Wakefield picked up the title last year, beating Durham 21-14 in the final. As champions they are in Group A, alongside the hosts, Hymers College, Ampleforth College, who won last year’s Plate, and Nottingham High School.

Many people’s favourites for the title will be Sedbergh, the 2014 champions. They are in Group B alongside last year’s Plate runners up, Ashville College, as well as Woodhouse Grove and St Peter’s York.

Group C sees 2015 runners up Durham joined by Pocklington, Birkdale, and Barnard Castle. There is AASE presence in Group D meanwhile with Myerscough College, who are drawn alongside Hill House, Worksop College, and Yarm.

The format will see the top two from each group reach the Cup quarter finals, while the bottom two will compete in the Plate quarter finals.
