School 7s: Hampton School Founders Day 7s set for kick off

The draw for the 18th Annual Hampton School Founders Day 7s has been made, where John Fisher will be looking to retain their title.

That was the second time in six years that John Fisher had lifted the title, and it was also the fourth time since 2008 that hosts Hampton had reached the final but just fallen short of claiming the Cup.

You can bet that they will be going all guns blazing to claim the title this year though, however they are drawn in a hugely tough group.

The competition is split into two groups of five, with the winners competing in the Cup final while the second place sides compete in the Plate competition, won last year by Brighton College.

Hampton and Brighton College are both in Group 1 along with Campion, St Benedict’s, and Caterham.

In Group 2 Champions John Fisher also face some tricky fixtures, with Cranleigh likely to be a particularly tough test alongside St Paul’s, St Joseph’s College, and Tiffin.

The tournament begins at 13.10 on Wednesday 24th February, just three weeks before Rosslyn Park, it is therefore a great chance for an early indicator of form ahead of the big end of season competition.
