School 7s: Kirkham Grammar look to build on Sunday’s success at Austin Friars

The Austin Friars 7s take place on Wednesday, with twelve schools coming together.

The twelve are split into three groups of four, from which the top sides will progress to a Cup round robin group, and the second placed sides will progress to a Bowl round robin group.

Giggleswick have won the last two editions of this tournament, but will not be attending this year. The strong favourites though, surely, are Kirkham Grammar School, who so brilliantly won the Durham 7s over the weekend.

They are placed in Group C alongside Cockermouth, Nelson Thomlinson, and Rossall.

The hosts, Austin Friars, are in Group B along with Lucton, Ripon Grammar, and King’s Priory, Tynemouth, while in Group A RGS Newcastle will be favourites to progress ahead of Ermysted’s Grammar, QEGS Penrith, and QES Kirkby.
