England U18 scored five tries yesterday to secure a 39-15 victory over Scotland U18 at Stirling University.

England took a 17-5 lead into the half time break with tries through flanker Tom Curry and inside centre Jacob Umaga.

Leicester Tigers wing Sam Yawayawa scored England’s first points of the second half before Scotland’s Rory McMichael narrowed the gap to 24-10.

A Jacob Umaga penalty nudged momentum back England’s way though, before King’s College Taunton’s Aaron Chapman, recently on from the bench, scored a try to stretch the advantage to 34-10.

He was at it again as the game came towards the end, picking up his second try on his debut. There was yet time for Scotland to grab a consolation through a try from Dollar Academy’s Harry Warr, but it was not enough for Scotland to be able to mount a comeback.

It secured a 39-15 victory for England U18, with Oundle openside Tom Curry being named a deserving Man of the Match.

England are next in action on Sunday 13th March against Wales U18, who beat France on Friday evening, a side who have already beaten England.
