ISRFC Lambs: Lambs shuffle tour schedule & name exciting team to play La Plata

The ISRFC Lambs have reshuffled their tour fixtures following the cancellation of their game against Argentina U18.

They now face La Plata RFC U19s today (Friday), and face Daom RFC on Sunday 3rd April, a fixture moved back a day from Saturday.

The team for today’s game against La Plata sees some major reshuffles, not least with St Peter’s York number 8 Sam Hudson starting at outside centre, and Giggleswick loosehead Nick Atkinson skippering from number 8.

The reason for the big shuffle is the number of injuries that the Lambs have suffered so far in South America. Nevertheless, the front five remains unchanged from the side that faced Buenos Aires on Tuesday.

Woodhouse Grove’s Edward Linkogel starts at loosehead, with Queen Ehtelburga’s Jack Starkey at hooker, and Feslted’s Mike Galsworthy at tighthead. In the second row Harry Johnson of Ashville College and Wellingborough’s Eddie Goss continue their partnership.

Woodhouse Grove’s Louis Fraser switches from the openside flank to the blindside, with Wisbech Grammar’s Oliver Short coming in at openside. Nick Atkinson skippers the side in the unfamiliar position of number 8.

James Lennon and George Hitchcock of Felsted resume their partnership at half back, with Hudson starting after sitting out Tuesday’s game, while Hitchcock moves in from inside centre to fly half.

Toby Buckland of Royal Hospital School, outside half on Tuesday, moves to full back, with Plymouth College’s Isaac Rayworth moving from outside centre to the left wing. Buckland’s switch to full back sees Blundell’s Arthur Friend move from the fifteen shirt to the right wing.

Pangborune College’s Will Vaughan comes in at inside centre, where he partners St Peter’s York number 8 Sam Hudson.

After two defeats, the Lambs will be looking to turn some promising performances into victory, all the while keeping to their ‘fast and free’ attacking principles.
