Bath snap up four players for Senior Academy

Bath have announced the signing of four players to their Senior Academy for next season.

The four players, all forwards, will join the club formally in the summer, with three joining on a full time basis, while one will join the Bath Academy’s University Scholars programme.

Alex Humphrey, a second row or back row, will train on a part time basis with the Academy, and full time at the University of Bath, he moves from Neath RFC in the Welsh Premiership.

Millfield have long been a source of talent for Bath, including most recently Darren Atkins and Adam Hastings. Two of their teammates from their final year at school, Gabriel Oghre and Josh Bayliss are among the four new Senior Academy members.

Both have represented England U18, Bayliss is another second row/back row, and is the Millfield captain, though his season this year has been hampered by injury. The big rangy runner will be a star of the club’s academy without doubt.

His schoolmate Oghre is equally exciting, the hooker has spent the past two years at Millfield, having previously been at Beechen Cliff, and is a powerful ball carrier with very quick feet.

Will Vaughan of SGS Filton College is the fourth player to join the Senior Academy, like Bayliss and Oghre, Vaughan has also represented England U18 at loosehead prop.
