Felsted to host Old Boys 7s tournament

On Sunday 11th September 2016, Felsted School will be hosting an Old Boys Rugby 7s tournament in aid of the charity Sparkle Malawi.

The tournament, open to all Old Boys of an school from the upcoming group of school leavers and any years prior to that, will see all proceeds go to the support of The Sparkle Foundation, which was set up by a former Felsted pupil, Sarah Brook.

The Sparkle Foundation is a charity that runs a community based project in Malawi, it is now looking after more than 200 orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi.

The school are hoping to attract over thirty teams to play in the Festival, with each side guaranteed a minimum of four games, with Cup, Plate, and Vase tournament, as well as a ‘celebrity’ fixture, which will feature Saracens rugby players and Essex cricketers among others.

Gilbert are one of the key partners for the event, and are offering discounted personalised shirts for all teams, with a percentage of the sales being given to Sparkle.

With University just around the corner for many at the time of the tournament, it should be a great opportunity for recent school friends to get together before heading off for pastures new, while for others a fantastic social occasion to keep up with old school mates.

Entry will be £250 for the day per team, which cover match officials, pitches, and medical cover.
