The Top 10 in the Daily Mail Trophy has seen another bit of a shake-up this weekend as the big names begin to gravitate towards the top of the tree.
Harrow remain in top spot after an excellent win over St Paul’s, their 5.80 Merit Points give them a clear advantage over the chasing pack at the moment.
Sedbergh jumped from seventh to second after their outstanding effort in putting sixty points on a Durham side who have generally finished well in the Trophy table.
That surge from Sedbergh just bumps Clifton College from second to third, despite Clifton secured a big win over Marlborough College on Saturday. Their merit points have increased from 5.35 to 5.40, but Sedbergh’s jump to 5.55 just knocks Clifton to third.
Wellington College are one of the biggest risers in the Top 10, their stunning 53-7 win over Sherborne sees them charge up from eighth to fourth in the table, flying high despite having lost a game thanks to the strength of their fixture list.
Blundell’s hold station in fifth, their win over Bryanston keeping them in exactly the same position as last week. There is a slide for Nottingham High School though, their lack of eligible fixtures seeing them slip from third last week to sixth this week as the others around them really start to build their points tally.
St Peter’s York are up to seventh from ninth after their brilliant win over a QEGS Wakefield side that could have posed a serious threat to St Peter’s Top 10 ambitions.
Rugby School are also up a couple of places, they sit in eighth, up form tenth, following a huge win over Cheltenham College that should grab plenty of attention.
Brighton College slide down the order a little despite a narrow win over Trinity on Saturday. It is through no fault of their own that they slip from fourth to ninth though, their points tally remains the same, they are just the victims of those around them enjoying spectacular success on Saturday.
There is just one new team in the Top 10 this week, Woodhouse Grove sneak up into tenth following their Friday night win over Bradford Grammar School, while St Peter’s Gloucester slip out of the Top 10 altogether despite beating Solihull narrowly on Saturday.
