Wellington College returned to the top of the Daily Mail Trophy table after another win against a high ranked opponent.
The winners of the last two editions of this competition beat Eton College 22-12 to jump from fourth top first. However they must look over their shoulders as Sedbergh could be set to leapfrog them, the men from Cumbria still sit in second, but their strong win against Barnard Castle this weekend has yet to be registered and will see them very close to Wellington.
Wellington’s gain is Harrow’s loss, they slip to third in the table, with Clifton also slipping slightly from third to fourth after a brilliant but very close win against Bristol Grammar School on Saturday.
St Peter’s York move into the Top 5 for the first time after they put over fifty past St Ambrose College to move up a couple of places from seventh.
Rugby School also climb two places, from eighth to sixth after their excellent midweek victory against Radley College.
Nottingham High School slip from 6th to 7th, they have still played just the one eligible game, while Brighton College are up from ninth to eighth despite not being in action in the Daily Mail Trophy this weekend.
Kirkham Grammar are into the Top 10 for the first time this season after their outstanding 32-12 victory over Abingdon on Friday evening, they had to use every ounce of their quality to turn a close game into a comfortable margin in the final ten minutes.
Woodhouse Grove remain in tenth having not played this weekend. Blundell’s drop out of the Top 10 for the first time this season following their 6-3 defeat to Canford in tough conditions on Saturday.
