Wednesday saw some fantastic schools rugby as some top sides took to the fields across the country.
There were some exciting games, including a NatWest Cup quarter final and some great Anglo Welsh games.
The final quarter final of the 2017 NatWest Cup took place on Wednesday, as Bishop Wordsworth’s travelled to Judd. A magnificent game unfolded, with Bishop Wordsworth’s winning 34-24 to secure their semi final spot. You can see our report here: Judd v Bishop Wordsworth’s.
Millfield won a huge Anglo-Welsh fixture under the lights at Whitchurch High School, taking a 35-18 victory, their fourth over Welsh opposition this year.
There was another excellent victory for Queen Ethelburga’s, who beat Coleg Llandrillo 41-17, while Christ College struck one back for Wales, beating Shrewsbury 24-19.
John Fisher just squeaked home to victory over Wallington County Grammar, 18-17, with Campion recording a good win over visitors Skinners’, whom they beat 17-10.
There was a huge game in Reigate as the Grammar School hosts Melbourne side Trinity Grammar, who are here for a brilliant UK tour, winning 47-10 in great style.
There are two results still to come in, Robert Clack v Brentwood and Maidstone Grammar v St Olave’s Grammar.
There is one more game to come before Saturday, on Friday night at Aylesbury RFC on their new artificial surface. QEGS Wakefield make the trip down from Yorkshire to face RGS High Wycombe in what will be, and always is, a fantastic and high level game of schoolboy rugby.
