Sedbergh 10s: Draw announced for end of season Sedbergh 10s

The draw for the famous Sedbergh 10s has been made, held this year on Sunday 26th March and Monday 27th.

The format is changed slightly this year, with four smaller groups rather than two bigger groups, but it still looks like a brilliant tournament.

It is always a favourites among many school, a brilliant way to finish off the season, and for many their school rugby careers.

It always attracts a hugely competitive field, and has done once again this year. RGS High Wycombe are the defending champions, and their Group 2 draw shows just how competitive this competition is. QEGS Wakefield, Oakham, and Bristol Grammar School are their competition, three schools who have had very good seasons.

Millfield are often successful here and won back in 2015 with a brilliant performance, their Group 1 draw is also tough, with Cokethorpe and King’s Macclesfield joining them, along with the hosts, Sedbergh.

Group 3 looks equally perilous, with the outstanding Brighton College joined by Abingdon and Barnard Castle, two sides with top records this year, as well as South African school Michaelhouse’s 2nd 10.

Michaelhouse’s 1st 10 are in Group 4, where the scarily consistently good Kirkham Grammar School reside. They are joined by Stamford, and a KES Bath side who enjoyed a stunning 1st XV season.

All in all, it looks like it should be just as good and exciting a competition as ever. The groups will take place from 10.30 to 17.00 on Sunday, and from 9.30 on Monday, with the finals taking place from 14.00 on the Monday.
