The final full weekend of the school rugby season was battered by the weather, but there is a healthy set of midweek fixtures to raise the spirits.
There was still some brilliant rugby on Saturday, and you can see our roundup of it here: Schools Rugby Weekend Roundup. This week should hopefully see fewer cancellations, and with it some superb rugby to help round off the season.
Monday
On Monday’s King’s Parramatta’s tour of the UK continues with a trip to Sir Thomas Rich’s. The Australians are a top outfit, so we can look forward to an excellent game of rugby.
Tuesday
There are four games on Tuesday, including the excellent Stamford’s trip to Welbeck. In Ipswich Woodbridge host King’s Ely, while elsewhere Dover Grammar School travel to St Lawrence College and Queen Ethelburga’s host Prince Henry’s Grammar School.
Wednesday
Wednesday is the big day this week with two vital U18 Schools Vase quarter finals, the final two quarter finals across all four U18 competitions.
Midlands A champions King’s Worcester travel to Daunstsey’s, who were the South West A winners. The winner in this one will head into the semi finals, where Langley will be their opponents after last week’s 45-5 defeat of Hayes, who are in action away at Simon Langton on Wednesday.
The other semi finals sees North B champions Ripon Grammar School host South West B’s Sir William Borlase’s. Wirral Grammar School will be the opponent for the winners in the semi final, the North A side beat Reed’s 20-12 in their quarter final.
Bishop Wordsworth’s, who were knocked out of the Cup on Saturday, host another of the Australian tourists, King’s Sydney, on Wednesday, while there is a big County Cup game as St Edmund’s College take on St Columba’s College.
Elsewhere Beth’s host Coopers and Bishop Vesey’s welcome KES Five Ways. Colston’s meanwhile have a big game to finish their season on, hosting Exeter School.
There is a huge Anglo-Scots clash as Durham make the trip across the border to take on Edinburgh Academy, a game that ought to prove a cracking contest.
In the South East there is a massive game as Judd travel to Trinity, Sutton Valence v Emanuel also looks like as excellent game, so too Steyning Grammar’s fixture against Worthing College.
Newcastle School for Boys’ fixture against Austin Friars was postponed on Saturday and will move to Wednesday, the region will also see Rossall host Ripley St Thomas.
John Fisher are in action as they host Carshalton, Gravesend Grammar meanwhile host King’s Rochester and Gordon’s take on Royal Alexandra and Albert.
There is a big game for Pate’s, who are at home to Chosen Hill, so too Leicester Grammar, they host Princethorpe, while Sandringham welcome Dame Alice Owens and St Joseph’s College have a massive game at home to Seevic College.
Thursday
There are just two games on Thursday, but they are a pair of cracking games. Eton College host Berkhamsted for what should be an outstanding game of rugby between two well matched side, and a fantastic way for both sides to end their season.
The same will be true in the Midlands, where Rugby welcome Bristol Grammar School. Both sides will be hoping to be at their absolute best, and will need to be, in order to finish their season on a positive note with a win against another top side.
Friday
There is one game on Friday, and it should be a cracker as Bradford Grammar School and Colfe’s take each other on at Blackheath RFC, a fantastic way to end the season.
