After a weekend of U18 Academy League, ISRFC Lambs, and some school fixtures, there are a few midweek fixtures to keep us all occupied over the next few days.
Wednesday sees a number of exciting fixtures, not least and AASE v School clash in the South West as 2016 AASE champions Exeter College welcome schools rugby legends Millfield for what promises to be a cracker of a game.
There is another Schools v AASE clash taking place further east as Queen Ethelburga’s host the Wasps feeders, Henley College, which again ought to be a fantastic occasion.
Perhaps none will be as big an occasion as Austin Friars v Newcastle School for Boys though, taking place on Wednesday evening at Newcastle Falcons’ home ground, Kingston Park. Meanwhile, staying in the north east, Emmanuel College host King’s Priory.
Former Schools Cup champions St Peter’s Gloucester host Aberdare from Wales on Wednesday, and in another Anglo-Welsh clash, Shrewsbury make the trip across the Severn to Christ College Brecon.
Rising stars Hayes are in action away at Maidstone Grammar, while Mount Kelly host King’s College Taunton and Brighton, Hove, & Sussex College head to Steyning Grammar.
There are a couple of 1st XVs against lower sides, with Ratcliffe College hosting Welbeck 2nd XV and Tewkesbury welcoming KES Stratford’s 2nd XV. Seevic College meanwhile are in action against the well respected St Joseph’s College.
Wednesday is where the bulk of the action is taking place, however on Friday there is one very special game between two giants of schools rugby, and two real legends of the Schools Cup at both U18 and U15 level as QEGS Wakefield host RGS High Wycombe.
QEGS will be the slight favourites, having had a stronger season to date, however this game is almost always a classic between two of the real powerhouses of schoolboy rugby.
