School 7s: Exciting draw for the Christ’s Hospital 7s – Sunday 25th February

BECOME A PATRON

Sunday’s Christ’s Hospital 7s ought to be one of the very biggest, not just of the weekend but en route to the Rosslyn Park HSBC National School 7s.

There will be twenty sides in attendance, with five teams in each of the four groups. The top two sides from each group will reach the Cup quarter finals, while those in third and fourth will meet in the Bowl quarter finals. Those finishing bottom of the group will meet in the Shield semi finals.

The hosts, Christ’s Hospital, sit in Group A. Thy will face some strong challenges, not least from New Hall, who have performed well on the circuit in recent years. Joining them are King’s Canterbury, Eastbourne College, and Ardingly College.

Over in Group B Epsom College and Felsted are probably the two to watch, their fixture could be a classic. Do not discount Shiplake College, Peter Symonds’ College, and Maidstone Grammar though, all of whom can make a real impact.

There could well be fireworks in Group C too. Champions Trophy winners Dulwich College will be one of the strongest in the tournament, but look out for Hurstpierpoint College, who won the Seaford 7s earlier in the season. Caterham will also be strong, so too St Benedict’s and Pangboune College.

Group D meanwhile contains Hampton 7s winners, Brighton College, though it looks like it will be their second string, either way, they are strong. Look out also for rising stars Hayes, while The Oratory and Worth will also be strong. AASE side Henley College will be one of the toughest in the tournament though, they will be worth keeping an eye on.
