School 7s: Reed’s 7s Draw & Preview – Sunday 25th February

Among the many School 7s tournaments this weekend is the annual Reed’s 7s in Surrey.

Though smaller than some tournaments, it is a strong field at Reed’s. Eight sides will be in attendance, split into two groups of four. The top side in each will meet in the Cup final, second in the Plate final, third in the Bowl final, and fourth in the Shield final.

Last year’s winners were Seaford College, who beat Reed’s in the final. The two are kept apart this year, leaving open the possibility of a repeat final. Reed’s reside in Group A, and it looks a tough one. Joining them are Reigate Grammar School and Skinners’, but the biggest threat to their chances of a return to the Cup final are surely Felsted, who won the tournament in 2016.

Over in Group B Seaford College are probably the favourites but will face strong competition from last year’s Bowl winners, Wisbech Grammar School. Also likely to fancy their chances of a high finish are the exciting Eastbourne College, while Kent College could spring a surprise of two as well.
