Another busy week of schools rugby follows the excellent weekend just gone, with some massive clashes up and down the country.
There are also some Cup and Vase catch up games, some touring games, and some head to heads between some of the best in the country.
One of the highlights of Tuesday will be the flash between Felsted and Bedford. Felsted enjoyed a good win away at Oakham on Saturday and on their return home will want to back that up with another strong performance. Bedford will not make it easy though, the East Midlanders have had a tough start to the season and will be desperate to get a good win.
In Scotland Loretto host Lomond, while Merchiston Castle make the trip to Morrison’s Academy. Meanwhile just across the border RGS Newcastle host an exciting game against New Zealand tourists Lindesfarne College.
In the Schools Vase Sevenoaks host Oakwood Park, meanwhile there are also fixtures between Queen’s College Taunton and Mount Kelly, and Wymondham College and King’s Ely.
Surely one of the biggest games of the week, if not the season, comes on Wednesday. The return of the Croydon derby after a year off, John Fisher v Whitgift. This is one of the biggest derbies on the calendar, known to attract up to a couple of thousand spectators, and always a cracking contest, whether the teams are close of far apart in terms of their teams that year.
It is far from the only big game on Wednesday though, the Schools Cup sees some massive games, among them Bradford Grammar v King’s Macclesfield and Cheadle Hulme v St Ambrose College, as well as KCS Wimbledon v Howard of Effingham.
Elsewhere St Peter’s Gloucester welcome Solihull, while Stonyhurst College travel to QES Kirkby Lonsdale, Manchester Grammar meanwhile are in action away at Hutton Grammar. Portsmouth Grammar’s trip to Churcher’s College ought to be a cracking game too.
There is plenty of Vase action too, including Wallington County Gramar v Harris Academy, Richard Challoner’s trip to Rutlish, and Maidstone Grammar v Sutton Valence.
Also in the Vase we have Bishop Vesey’s v QEGS Ashbourne and King Henry VIII Coventry v KES Stratford, as well as a couple more crackers in Hayes v St Olave’s and Mill Hill v St Benedict’s.
Among the other non-Vase games, Blundell’s host Sidcot, while the very much in form Bloxham make the trip to Cokethorpe. The day is rounded off by a brilliant game hosted by Harlequins at the Twickenham Stoop as Emanuel take on Reigate Grammar School.
Thursday is a slightly quieter day, but one of the highlights will be the second Lindisfarne College game of the week. The Kiwis this time are at Oakham for what promises to be a good game.
Elsewhere Bethany host Ashford, while Ratcliffe College are in action away at Hill House.
Friday sees some excellent action under the lights. Caterham, who are in stunning form, host Colfe’s, while Malvern College take on Monmouth. Two games that should be fantastic adverts for schools rugby.
As should Ripon Grammar v Liverpool College and King’s Rochester v St Dunstan’s College, while Parmiter’s trip to Sandringham in the Schools Bowl has plenty of promise too.
A reminder that we welcome any photos, videos, and reports from your school’s games – the more the merrier! You can send them in to us via any of the methods below:
