Schools Rugby Midweek Preview: Half term, but the rugby goes on

With most schools on half term, there is not a huge amount of rugby being played this midweek.

That being said, there are a few fascinating games, not least on Wednesday with the ever growing Modus Cup.

Tuesday

There is just one game on Tuesday as Kirkham Grammar are on tour in Ireland, facing a good Wesley College side on Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday

Wednesday is a little busier, and the chief highlight is the Modus Cup at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways Stadium between RGS Worcester and King’s Worcester, Worcester’s two biggest rivals. It is always a spectacular evening, and should be once again this year.

Elsewhere Prince Henry’s Grammar School host RGS Newcastle’s 2nd XV, who will surely want to show their quality after the 1st XVs stunning St Joseph’s Festival title win. Meanwhile Knights Templar host Sandringham, and Christ College Brecon host Belgian tourists Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege.

There is also a Schools Vase game as Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School travel to KES Ashton in Midlands B, the winners will face Shrewsbury next round.
