The AASE Final takes place on Wednesday at Allianz Park as holders Hartpury College take on the unbeaten Beechen Cliff.
That is not the only AASE action this week though as on Tuesday the rest of the AASE play offs take place, with 3rd place, 11th place, and 13th place all being competed for at Shaftesbury Park, while 5th, 7th, and 9th are all being contested for at Derby RFC.
AASE Final
The final should be absolutely fascinating, as the champions, Hartpury College, take on a Beechen Cliff side that have beaten everyone before them – securing a bonus point victory in every single game this season.
Hartpury have won every single AASE League in history bar one, that was in 2016 when a mid season defeat to Beechen Cliff saw them miss out on a place in the final to Exeter College, who went on to become champions. They more than made up for that in last year’s final though as they put the sword to Gosforth Academy for a fantastic victory.
Life will surely not be so easy this year, not least because this Beechen Cliff sides looks outstanding. Not only that, but they have already beaten Hartpury by a stunning 50-19 margin back in September.
They should therefore have absolutely no fear in going up against the relentless champions of this league in the final. That said, Hartpury just know how to get the job done in this competition. It should be one of the best finals in a long time.

Tuesday
The 3rd place play off sees the 2016 champions Exeter College take on Truro College, who have got better and better with each passing week this year. Exeter won 37-21 against Truro in the opening game of the season, so another thriller could be in the offing.
5th Place sees last year’s finalists Gosforth Academy take on Oaklands College. Gosforth won 31-24 when the two met in September, and if they can get their offload game going on Tuesday it could be one of the games of the day.
It is Brooksby Melton College v Bishop Burton College in the 7th place play off, the last of the games between sides from the top divisions after the half term league split.
What is effectively the Division 2 final will be Myerscough College v GS Filton College. Myerscough have been consistent all year, but back since October SGS Filton College have been absolutely sensational after a slow start. If they keep that up they will take some stopping.
11th Place will see Moulton College take on Henley College, while the 13th place play off sees new boys Stourport High School take on St Paul’s Catholic College.
